10 Steps to SlimFast Diabetic Weight Loss Success

Every individual is unique and while following a weight loss plan, it is encouraged to be in tune with what is and isn’t working for you and creating a plan that will set you up for long term success!   1. Pick a date to get started! By writing down a date, you are making it real! And then from there you can begin to plan for success!
  2. Tell family and friends to enlist their support! You never know who you can inspire or who may have been “on the fence” about getting started on their own weight loss journey, they can become your teammate/ accountability partner!
  3. Take before pictures! Don’t underestimate the power of before pictures! Some weeks the scale may not move, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that all your hard work isn’t paying off. Being able to compare to a before photo can be extremely helpful on your weight loss journey.
  4. Track your calories in a nutrition tracking app! By tracking in an app everything you eat and drink, it is usually much easier to stay on track with your calorie and nutrient goals for the day.
  5. Prep your meals and snacks weekly! Preparation is key! Have a plan for your meals and snacks for the week and try to prepare a few meals ahead of time so you are prepared when hunger hits!
  6. Make a plan to add light activity, like a daily walk into your routine! Exercise doesn’t need to take place at a fancy gym or even on a treadmill at home…exercise can be any movement that you enjoy! There are also lots of free exercise videos available online for cold months or rainy days! As always, please check with your doctor prior to beginning any exercise regimen, especially if you are a person living with diabetes.
  7. Drink enough water! Speak with your healthcare provider about how much water you should be drinking daily. Adequate hydration is important for overall health and well-being!
  8. Explore sensible meal recipes We have plenty of realistic recipes for you to make on Pinterest and also on SlimFast.com! Even the simplest meals, with just a few ingredients can be delicious and nutritious!
