Common SlimFast Misconceptions

Common Misconceptions About SlimFast Image

As the Registered Dietitian Consultant for the SlimFast Plan, Maryann Walsh gets asked tons of questions about SlimFast and common misconceptions about the SlimFast Plan. Below she shares some of the common questions and comments she receives daily and the facts behind them!

Common Misconception 1: SlimFast is a liquid/crash/ fad diet plan.

SlimFast is not a “liquid diet” “crash diet” or a “fad diet”, it is the framework for a healthy lifestyle. The products are tools that provide convenient and balanced nutrition to complement the sensible meals and snacks that you choose based on the foods that you enjoy. You’re able to enjoy meals with your family, and you can go out to your favorite restaurants with friends while practicing portion control and balance – key principals crucial to weight loss and long-term weight maintenance.

Common Misconception 2: SlimFast is not sustainable. You will gain back all the weight you lose.

Once you reach your goal weight on SlimFast, you can choose to utilize the SlimFast Maintenance Plan where you replace just 1 meal a day instead of 2 with a SlimFast meal replacement. Also, with the support of the SlimFast Together, SlimFast Keto Together and SlimFast DiaBe Together groups you can rest assured that you have a place to get ongoing support and share your successes & triumphs throughout your weight loss and weight maintenance journey. The SlimFast Brand Ambassadors, who actively moderate the groups, regularly share advice and support as to how they have maintained their weight loss for multiple years.

Common Misconception 3: SlimFast is a processed food. Processed food is bad.

In a perfect world we would all be able to eat fresh, whole foods and take time to prepare all our meals and snacks. However, with our busy lifestyles it’s not often possible, which is why utilizing nutritious, convenient items like SlimFast meal bars and ready-to-drink shakes with 24 vitamins and minerals, and delicious SlimFast snacks can be a wonderful addition to your weight loss plan!

Common Misconception 4: SlimFast is not medical or nutritionally sound.

You may know that the SlimFast Plan has been trusted for over 40 years to help Millions of Americans lose weight fast and keep it off*, but did you know that the SlimFast Plan is backed by 40 clinical studies? Combining proven science with the flexible SlimFast Plan and delicious SlimFast products encourages positive lifestyle changes to achieve weight loss goals and long-term success.
