As we focus on everything we are thankful for this holiday season, we can’t forget to be thankful for the things in our lives that help us reach our goals. Whether your goal is to lose weight, maintain your weight or achieve a healthier lifestyle, there are so many amazing options out there to help us get there. I am personally thankful for tools in my kitchen that help me create quick, nutritious meals. My blender makes it easy to whip up nutritious smoothies with lots of protein to keep me fueled and satisfied all morning long. Lately this Power Pumpkin Smoothie made with SlimFast Advanced Vanilla Cream Smoothie Mix is my absolute favorite. I sometimes add a shot of espresso for some extra pep in my step!
Also, on my list of kitchen tools I am thankful for … my air fryer! This lifesaver appliance makes it easy to throw together meals on busy weeknights. Frozen veggies and frozen proteins are convenient and always readily available in my freezer so I don’t have to resort to takeout or delivery on nights I am short on time.
Having been a dietitian for almost 10 years now, I can attest to the fact that tracking my nutrition with an app can be a game-changer. It can be especially helpful for those of us trying to lose or maintain our weight during the holiday season, when there are decadent temptations everywhere you turn! By taking a few extra minutes out of my day I can see if the calories and nutrients I am taking in are within my target for the goals I’ve set for myself.
The SlimFast Together app is a tool I use every day to stay on track! The app has an extensive database of foods so I can log the foods I am eating throughout the day. I also like having a place to track my activity, sleep, and water intake. I am very much a “planner”, so having the shopping list feature comes in handy to help me easily shop for the groceries and SlimFast products I need, whether online or in the store!
One question I get asked often by friends and family, is if I have any good meal plans I can share.
