Lost 42 lbs. and 18″ in 39 weeks
After becoming a stay-at-home dad, Bill lacked the energy to keep up with his three daughters. He wanted to get back into shape and take control of his weight. With the SlimFast Plan, he lost 42 lbs and has been keeping it off. Now his girls have a hard time keeping up with him!
When I graduated high school, I was an elite athlete and weighed 150 lbs. In college, I very quickly got up to 195 lbs and maintained that extra weight for almost 20 years.
Everything changed with the arrival of beautiful twin girls. My wife and I already had a 3-year-old daughter and I was a stay-at-home dad. I needed to get back in shape if I was going to keep up with the challenge of raising three children under 3!
I knew that I needed to do something to feel less out-of-shape and gain more energy throughout the day. I had never even considered ‘dieting’, never mind actually trying to. And I’m not the kind of guy that goes to the gym. But with two newborns and a toddler to look after, I knew I had to find a solution.
My Success Story began in March of 2016, when my wife decided to try the SlimFast Plan. She wanted to lose the baby weight. She was making smoothies in the blender that were high protein and tasted delicious. She’d mix in peanut butter powder with the Chocolate SlimFast Smoothie Mix and offer me to try. How could I resist? Without even realizing it, I was doing the SlimFast Plan too, swapping two shakes per day for breakfast and lunch, and then having a totally normal dinner with the family.
I started to lose weight almost immediately and couldn’t believe it.
I’m not a ‘dieter’. I’ve never counted calories or stuck to some difficult or uncomfortable diet. 42 lbs later, I still haven’t counted a single calorie.
I began using the chocolate or vanilla shakes as ‘creamer’ with my morning coffees for breakfast. For lunch, I then used the chocolate, vanilla or berry powders to make a Smoothie. Soon I was making better, more creative smoothies than my wife, and she’d be asking me, “what’s for lunch?”.
But most importantly, and best of all, I was still eating a delicious dinner every night with my family. I love to cook gourmet meals. It’s a personal passion and hobby of mine. From savory meats to indulgent pastas… I didn’t have to give up any of these types of meals because they are all “allowed” on the SlimFast Plan.
My weight loss continued through the year, and it really felt effortless. I began to gain confidence in my ability to change and control my body. Friends and family started noticing my weight loss. Then, I added light exercise and the results amazed me. I’m not someone who “hits the gym”; in fact, I hate the gym. So I created a routine to work out from home after the kids were asleep. Pushups, pull ups, squats and core, along with light weights is really all it took. I had never felt so great.
And after particularly hard workouts, I would be very hungry, so I created what I affectionately called a “brotein bomb”. I would mix Greek yogurt, Chocolate SlimFast Smoothie Mix, almond milk, and almonds into a low-fat high protein cereal. So tasty, satisfying, full of protein and healthy!
By the end of 2016, I was down to 153lbs. I lost 42lbs in 9 months. It was easy and effective because the SlimFast Plan is delicious and it’s convenient. It sounds simple because it is!
Almost a year later I’m still keeping the weight off. I’m at the same weight I was during my senior year of high school! I enjoy the SlimFast Plan because it doesn’t feel like a diet to me. The SlimFast Plan is tasty and there are so many ways that you can blend, combine, and create new ways to enjoy the smoothies, shakes, and powders.
Though I can’t get back the past 20 years before starting the SlimFast Plan, I know I’ll be in shape for the next 20 years ahead…and now my girls will have a tough time keeping up with me!
