Lost 37 lbs. and 20″ in 26 weeks
Rachael was a junk food junky who swapped her unhealthy treats for great tasting SlimFast shakes and snacks and lost 37 lbs.! I had been looking at myself for a few years saying, “I’ve definitely got that middle-aged weight gain”, which I didn’t like, but I figured was inevitable. My body jiggled awkwardly and it was harder to move quickly in sports or hiking; and forget about running! I had always kept myself in decent shape on my own, but in addition to the healthy foods I would enjoy, I also ate a lot of junk on the side and didn’t work out quite enough to burn it off. At first I was a little nervous about the products not tasting good or providing enough energy, but I was pleasantly surprised at the tasty Drizzled Crisps and especially the Peanut Butter Chocolate Snack Bites. I was also concerned that I wouldn’t be able to handle exercising, and by starting off slow I thought, “is this really doing anything?”. The next day I could tell it was! As the intervals increased I noticed my endurance increasing. Starting off with short 10 minute jogs which increased to 15 minute runs gave me more and more confidence. Graduated exercises with a good warm-up and stretching afterwards helped strengthen my muscles and I can run for up to 30 minutes now! A great treat after a cleansing workout is a SlimFast Smoothie. If I pop it in the freezer before my workout, it’s cold and frosty right afterwards and recharges me for the rest of the day. My favorite trick with the Smoothie powders is to mix them with my morning coffee. My typical day starts with the Smoothie powder in my coffee (hot or iced), a workout, and then a 100-calorie snack. Lunch is a sensible meal like a salad with protein, or something more daring that still follows the calorie guidelines. During the afternoon I’m able to use the two snacks to tide me over until dinner. Dinner is a tasty SlimFast meal replacement and a cup of herbal tea. If I haven’t eaten all of my Snacks that afternoon I will often warm up a sliced apple with some cinnamon and a few raisins sprinkled on it for a healthy alternative snack. I originally wanted to lose about 20 pounds, just to be comfortable in my own skin. I didn’t expect to become super fit or muscular, just in better shape for me. And here I am with defined arms, legs, a WAISTLINE, AND 37 pounds lighter! Thanks, Rachael
