Trinity

After back to back pregnancies, stay-at-home mom, Trinity struggled to find balance between her family and taking care of herself. Trinity then discovered the SlimFast Together Community and everything changed!

For as long as I can remember I’ve always been active. Even after my first-born son, I enjoyed anything from dance classes to outdoor activities and was always about 115 pounds. It wasn’t until after back to back pregnancies that I began to struggle with my weight. My second son was born in 2015 and I was able to bounce back as quickly as I did after my first pregnancy. When my daughter was born just 17 months later, it became harder. She took to nursing better than my boys and I knew I had to eat to be able to continue nursing. However, having less free time meant that home-cooked meals turned into chips, candy, and soda.

I knew I was holding on to my baby weight, but it didn’t really click in my head. It wasn’t until after taking family Christmas photos in 2017, I was shocked at what I saw. I could hardly recognize myself. That was definitely my Aha! Moment. My daughter was now 16 months old and I was still wearing maternity jeans! On top of that, I was planning my wedding and had finally set a date for July of the following year. I was motivated to regain control. I tried a few fad diets that did nothing but discourage me. One night in early February of 2018, I was scrolling through social media and saw that a friend of mine liked the SlimFast Together Group page. I said to myself “Oh yeah! SlimFast! My Mom used that years ago and loved it. Maybe I should give it a try.” What did I have to lose? I was 157.8 pounds and unhappy. My fiancé at the time said I should give it a try if that’s what I really wanted.

The first week I lost 5 pounds without exercising.  As I gradually incorporated workouts, I lost even more weight!  And fast! Things became fun again.  I was enjoying being active with my kids and finding new workouts.  I started with a ballet class since I enjoyed that when I was younger, but I really fell in love with a combination of Pilates and Yoga.  Pushing my body just a little further and seeing the end results is what drives me.

Our wedding came five months after starting SlimFast and my goal was to be 120 pounds.  I was just shy of that goal by one pound, but that didn’t matter because I felt beautiful and my dress was actually a little too big!  Since then, I have been on the SlimFast Maintenance Plan and maintained a weight of 117 pounds.  What I’ve learned through this process is that it’s okay to focus on myself.  I am a wife and mother, but I am also a person who deserves to be happy.  I don’t have to put my needs on the back burner.

What I love the most about SlimFast is that I don’t have to give up my favorite foods or give up sitting down with the family to eat.  We have a Family Burger Night that I can still enjoy.  I’ve learned how to incorporate that into my sensible meal through portion control and I feel satisfied.  I am down 40 pounds and I’ve got my confidence back!  I feel stronger and healthier than I did even before I had any of my children.  I owe it all to SlimFast, the SlimFast Together Group, the brand ambassadors and all of the community members for reminding me of who I used to be and who I can become.  There is so much encouragement and genuine love from strangers that have become like family just cheering you on every step of the way!  If I could reach out to anyone that is thinking about starting or questioning if SlimFast works or not, I’d say just give yourself a week!  You’re worth it to just give it a try.  Follow The Plan and you’ll be amazed at how fast you’ll learn to love yourself again!
